15. The 4th of July. Lying again. Got up in front of the six grandfathers and lied again. Called us out as hostiles. What the chode.
16. well this merciless indian savage is here we land on july 7th and i think that we should
17. claim the day after and you know the one thing to celebrate is a survival is our resilience
18. that's the only thing i'm celebrating so much has happened how you doing sun rose we're still here
19. We're still going, we're still flowing. We are seeing the effects of the domination over nature, of how the corporations have been affecting the earth, the plants, the animals, the weather.
20. and I can't help but hear the echoings of some of my elders saying that the storms are going to get
21. worse the rain the hail the lightning everything that we experience on the normal that we can deal
22. with is going to get to extreme levels because we are out of balance of
23. the earth is just this precious little balanced thing right there's only so many feet before
24. the whole universe is right there and the ozone layer has been disappearing for most my life
25. because in the 90s we heard about that hairspray was killing the ozone layer and you know what
26. they still made hairspray. Like they didn't change. The corporations didn't change the way
27. they disperse hairspray. They just started making bigger bottles.
28. Sun Rose, I feel your pain. You know, this isn't the doom and gloom show. This is Be a Better
29. Relative. This is the Eagle and the Condor, the North and Southern region, the territories of
30. where you and I come into balance, and I really so enjoy having this time.
31. And my two pennies worth?
32. Actually, I'm going to give a penny, because a penny used to buy two bits of candy.

34. I'm definitely dating myself.
35. The five cent bubble gum.
36. Yeah.
37. Remember that I do My ambition to encourage and inspire anybody listening out there I sincerely from the bottom of my heart knew that some spectacle was going to happen
38. And we saw them marching and chanting.
39. And there's two unique pictures of two courageous relatives sitting on the metro
40. or standing at the metro station, surrounded by masked men, mostly men, white nationalists.
41. And that's not surprising. Now they're coming out of the woodwork. So I have in my circles,
42. I've been counting, not coup, but I've been counting the organizations that I've been a
43. part of and supporting that have actually been caught slipping. Because what I've noticed,
44. first and foremost is that there's less reporting or less condition of acknowledgement for Indigenous
45. people. And there's been less of a desire or inclination to move towards what the truth is
46. and stay and stand on truth. There's a couple of environmental groups, and I'm going to get to that
47. probably at the end of the show. The part that kicked my rear end was listening to a radio show
48. where this woman got on talking about her book.
49. And she wrote a book because she felt she needed to be part of nature.
50. So she went on a trip and she wanted to study nature and look at nature.
51. And there's nothing really scientific about it,
52. except for she wanted to see in relationship to humankind,
53. how we have not been kind,
54. and that she really wants to drive the message of coexisting.
55. I'm like, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute.
56. I'm talking to the radio.
57. I'm talking at the radio.
58. I'm yelling at the radio.
59. This is indigenous.
60. How can you live under a rock?
61. Like, what rock do you live under that you are conditioned to think that?
62. And then I realized it's starting to develop as an Ivanka Trump-ism, where some women decide
63. that they've arrived on an idea or a term or a phrase or something that they think that
64. they've invented sliced bread.
65. Well, I prefer tortillas, but hey, to each his own.
66. I don't know what you felt or saw when you saw.
67. What was your reaction initially when the white nationalists were marching about and shouting and chanting and demanding?
68. I guess I kind of feel compassion for them because I see through that identity, this fake.
69. It's definitely like this domination.
70. It's they've created a identity that is disconnected from the earth that doesn't care about what they do.
71. It's like zero accountability and this privilege.
72. And it's weird.
73. It's so weird to like see the history of where that comes from.
74. And like on a human level, you got to be like, oh, man, we got to put this to rest.
75. Like we got to take the white sheets off.
76. like no this is not costume yeah yeah it's and so my compassion for them just knows that like yo
77. like you're a human being and you're connected to land that may not be from here like you don't have
78. to be so caught up on that it's like i'm not from there at all i'm from here like this is my land
79. and it's like well hold on you're a little miseducated and i just want to like help you out
80. So across the ocean is a homeland that all of this that you searching for it all over there Yeah well there places you can go where there are just non people
81. And colonizers came on ships.
82. The people here already are and were indigenous to the land, all of Turtle Island.
83. So then here's the narrative, the narrative of superiority and that disconnect with the land, the air, the water.
84. What are they going to eat after they finish spraying glyphosate or spraying and putting mRNA and all these different things that they're saying that they're putting it in?
85. It's like you're getting the shot even though you don't want to based on what you eat.
86. So what is it that they're going to be eating?
87. They're going to eat the sea moss from the algae in the pools.
88. I thought they were going to eat children, but I guess not.
89. Oh, that's right.
90. And then is that gluten-free children?
91. And I make joke of it, and I don't mean to make joke or light of it.
92. I'm actually very serious about what they're eating.
93. What are they going to eat?
94. What are they going to eat?
95. What are they going to drink?
96. Because I figured out that they're going to desalinate the ocean, and they're going to want all the beach property for themselves because they can desalinate the ocean and always have potable drinking water.
97. So that's check.
98. Let's go on to the next.
99. Mm-hmm.
100. identify as Hispanics. I don't. I did at one time, admittedly, then Latino and now Indigenous for
101. sure. He did the math and he totally did a forward thinking. April, I believe it was 2014, 2013,
102. did a remarkable presentation about how we are the minority in power. But if we take up the
103. educational system and do what we're supposed to do if we continue to grow in our careers and our
104. crafts and our art and our hearts, desires that we can be counted as the majority in population
105. in California, let alone the United States. That's what they're afraid of. They're afraid of the mass
106. index of people that don't look like them. The crazy thing is that people fall in love with
107. each other and always had the Romeo and Juliet effect. You know, in their case, what is it,
108. the McDonald's and the McMills? Or what's the nefarious family feuds that they would have on
109. one side of the mountain to the other? I don't even know their names. The McCoys.
110. Yeah. And here we are on the radio, merciless Indian savages, with half an hour to imbue and
111. share encouragement and inspire. So what say you with these people marching? You have compassion
112. and I don't. I want to sit down in a conference until we come out with like a encuentro where we
113. all listen to each other, but they got to do it without their masks. I want to sit down and talk
114. like have a fire and say, what lineage do you come from that you're fearful? The people, when
115. they arrived, their ancestors arrived, were taught how to grow food and how to survive
116. the winters and the different seasons the land and the environment had to offer and
117. living coexisting with nature So what was it the one organization that you were proposing Because I know there nature rights or yeah the global rights Earth Mother rights and there been a lot of talk and it all indigenous led
118. Mm-hmm. And with so many battlefronts or issues that we're standing on, hills, right, to defend, at the end of it, it boils down to two sides, and it's the ways of the earth or the ways of domination.
119. I'm not really sure what to call the other side, but I do know one side is the ways of the earth.
120. And John Trudell has an amazing scene in the Thunderheart movie where he plays, I believe the character is Jimmy.
121. But he's the uncle that has like the shaved mohawk and has the jean vest.
122. and he's talking to the FBI agent and he says, sometimes, you know, they have to do what they
123. have to do to us. And sometimes it's because we choose the ways of the earth. And that's like,
124. been really resonating with me lately. You know, there's a whole, you know, cool little speech that
125. he does. He says it in such a poetic way that the way John Trudell does, and we choose the ways of
126. the earth. So that's my new banner that I want to be under. And I want everyone to understand it's
127. not an indigenous issue. You know, it's not even like an animal issue. It's not a sea issue. It's
128. like a earth issue and we stand on the side of the earth yeah they i thought of you when they
129. blew i don't know how many metric tons of fireworks they wanted to hold a world record
130. and rendered the people sickness and difficulty to breathe they recommended in washington dc that
131. they do not go outside do not step outside i mean so in my neighborhood too when i looked out the
132. door there was a lot of smoke just in my neighborhood from their firework show too and i
133. was like a good 10 12 blocks away but it got smoky and so i can only imagine what it was like in
134. Washington, D.C., because they just topped as the Guinness World Record of the worst pollution, smoke, red alert, air in a capital city in the whole entire world.
135. So they had their entire world.
136. Their firework show was 850,000 shells.
137. I think once you get to

140. why is it so greedy

144. anyways I feel like

146. this gigantic number
147. this unnecessary

149. imagine how many of those shells
150. they could have given away

152. When more cities could have had shows.
153. Yeah, anyways.
154. So there was also a brutal heat wave in Washington, D.C.
155. And the smoke triggered a code red alert.
156. And it sent hundreds of people to the city.
157. Hundreds of people to medical tents, forcing officials to warn residents to stay inside and wear your N95 masks.
158. So good thing we're all stocked up on those.
159. Yeah, yeah.
160. It's almost a Mad Max scene.
161. The whole weekend was one of Mad Max.
162. 24 hours before the light fixtures are falling from the sky.
163. So what medals?
164. I have the question of what chemicals were in the air with all those fireworks.
165. Yeah, they called it a beautiful cocktail of air pollution when they exploded because tiny particles can seep into your lungs.
166. So copper, strontium, barium.
167. I'm probably, you know, using my Midwestern accent to produce those.
168. but they are mixed with toxic oxidizers so it's all a cocktail like they said
169. and you know they create those different colors etc but those tiny particles are small enough to
170. large deep inside your lungs so i wouldn't be surprised if there's even further effects that
171. people fine down the line oh i sue that's another american way right yeah yeah well it's glyphosate
172. apple pie i'm not eating that anymore anyways well it's inaccurate the way that they decided
173. to celebrate it was unhealthy from the rehearsals like i was i mentioned before some fixture fell
174. from the stage area and the heat, as you mentioned,
175. and the KKK marching and the fireworks now.
176. So I'm interested in knowing who signed off on the fireworks.
177. Who signed off on that?
178. Yeah.
179. Accountability.
180. As far as the Black Hills are not for sale, last I checked,
181. can you check that, please?
182. Our interest is still building up.
183. Yeah.
184. Why does he think that he can put his face up there?
185. So anyways, this will go down in history. It's just not common sense logistics, which defines measurably the failed experiment that Manifest Destiny is, this country, this land is. So let's just add the reflecting pool, the water gate, the reflecting pool water gate. Let's just add that to the mix. So what was there to celebrate? We're still here, as you said?
186. yes and if anything we got to learn how to be better survivors we've been really good at
187. surviving and so now what i'm hearing too is okay as being you know good relatives to each other
188. how can we protect our own health and our own lungs so i'm thinking okay we got to make sure
189. we have those n95 masks here stashed there stashed one in a purse you know since covid we've kind of
190. already been doing that and people still kind of carry their sanitizers and stuff around. But I'm
191. even thinking even further now that you can get alerts for those air qualities because I know
192. people with severe asthma, they are in tuned with the weather system where they can get an alert
193. when the air quality is bad and they know when they need to go inside right away. And so I can
194. start being in tune with that too.
195. Cause shoot I know it 4th of July and there a celebration coming but you never know when people are going to be setting off a lot of fireworks like that that abusive that abusive yeah i didn really know all of those chemicals were in that
196. too and then here we're sitting at the ballpark right in front of the fireworks going on and all
197. that smoke is just like all right there but the clouds prevented anybody from watching it and
198. seeing it. And even the people that were sitting up in the box, the dignitary, so to speak, the
199. senators and the Congress, and even they showed Rubio, whatever his name is, I never want to
200. remember people's names when I don't like them. They showed the people from the White House admin
201. sitting behind some glass windows, and they couldn't see it because of the reflection,
202. plus they were inside a well lit space. So they couldn't see the fireworks. So I don't know what
203. that was for. Well, every year we can expect that America is going to have some kind of show of pride
204. on their July birthday celebration. And this was way too over the top. And I definitely am agreeing
205. with you and that what was the point because with some of that extra funds it seems like there's a
206. lot of extra funds i see a lot of extra funds there where you could have stopped at a hundred
207. thousand actually the correct number of fireworks should have actually been 250,000 shells because
208. It's the 250th year celebration.
209. You know what I mean?
210. Yeah, I do.
211. We're celebrating the myths, though, that this country was built on.
212. And, you know, here we are.
213. Indigenous people have always been about love, care, and resistance collectively.
214. And when you think about it, 250 years ago or 500 years, depending on how you count, we've always been doing mutual aid.
215. we've always been doing mutual aid how did any of these people support and survive themselves
216. and build community if it wasn't for indigenous people teaching them how
217. to grow food and what was the constitution based on all men are created equal well how
218. the Iroquois and the Sixth Nation Confederacy, because they already had.
219. Well, their wampum belt was their document.
220. And they were able to tell you, because our oral tradition means you don't lie and you're honest and your word is bond.
221. And you give credit where credit is due, especially when you have a story or anything to do with any kind of sharing of any kind of knowledge.
222. Then where does that derived from?
223. And you know, the part about who's accountable to whom is very important, but who claims this person, the people masked marching around, talking about reclaiming America?
224. From themselves.
225. From themselves.
226. Without us, there wouldn't be.
227. There wouldn't be an America.
228. Without black, brown, beautiful, beautiful migrants from every corner of the world, we are America.
229. We were America before it was America.
230. So anyways I just want to share that Ray Saragosa apparently there you know stories about everybody I want to celebrate Ray because she was there during our challenge to the Army Corps of Engineers Ten years ago she was there at our marches and our gatherings for No DAPL and to protect and defend and honor that water that was so far away from us
231. And there you live, Sunrose.

233. You're at where the water is that we were praying about.
234. We're just going to play a little song of hers.
235. It's called The American Dream.
236. And when I saw the masked people chanting Reclaim America, and I'm going to say that song popped into my head and the lyrics are exquisite and really define that hate can't be the face of the American dream.
237. And we're going to go ahead and play that.
238. And I want to wish Ray Sargosa well, and I'm going to send her a message to let her know that we're featuring her song.
239. and it's just another takeaway from the talented people and relatives that were there
240. in struggle and resistance and for me for you I don't know what's planned in Iowa we're hitting
241. up a big heat storm a heat to summer just too hot for words and I just want to know that y'all are
242. taking care of each other out there and share the water share the blessings whatever you have
243. and to make sure you check on in the elderly and leave that little bowl leave that little
244. dish of water, a little half pot of water for the animals outside. Because I see the animals
245. struggling over here in Texas. And I'd like to tell the people of Texas to stay off my backside
246. of my car because I keep tapping my brakes when you get too close. And that's my only advice for
247. today. And I hope I can encourage y'all to be better, better relatives in the way that I'm
248. surviving Texas and Texas is surviving me.

250. Cause we see y'all the aunties,
251. we see what's happening.
252. And a part of our love is to kind of show you what's happening.
253. So we can step closer into unity and throughout,
254. you know,
255. the battle of little Bighorn and this celebration of the centennials and
256. and quad centennials, and all the things we can celebrate.
257. At the end of the day, it really comes down to unity.
258. Whatever we have, we still need to be united.
259. And so, yeah, united in choosing the ways of the earth.
