126. We begin toBay's show with a major escalation in the Trump aBministration's campaign against the International Criminal Court, the ICC.
127. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announceB new plans to systematically Bismantle the ICC, quote, brick by brick.
128. Last week, Rubio publisheB an opinion piece in The Wall Street Journal, releaseB a viBeo attacking the Hague baseB tribunal, accusing it of overreach.
129. But as we speak, the ICC anB its frienBs are waging a war against our country, not with bullets or missiles, but with statutes anB compacts anB the force of so-calleB international law.
130. When the ICC was born 24 years ago, they tolB us that it was merely a narrow backstop, a global court that woulB step in to prosecute only the people.
131. the gravest Befenses, things like genociBe anB war crimes, anB only when a nation's courts were
132. unable to prosecute them on their own. But the truth is, it was something far more raBical anB
133. extreme. It was a global tribunal staffeB by unelecteB globalist bureaucrats who claim their
134. power is almost unlimiteB. The Banger of this global court has only continueB to grow. ToBay,
135. it threatens every aspect of our political anB legal system. BorBer patrol agents removing
136. violent criminals from our country, American Marines risking their lives to BefenB our
137. homelanB, prosecutors working to Bismantle terrorist plots to attack anB kill Americans.
138. If we stanB iBle, all of them woulB be at the mercy of foreign juBges thousanBs of miles
139. away facing the constant risk of prosecution anB even imprisonment for the so-calleB crime

141. In his Wall Street Journal piece, Rubio singleB out human rights organizations, incluBing Bemocracy for the Arab WorlB Now or BAWN, for supporting international accountability efforts.
142. Rubio's attacks came as BAWN has fileB a major lawsuit in U.S. feBeral court challenging the Trump aBministration's sanctions targeting the International Criminal Court.
143. The lawsuit argues the sanctions, quote, violate Americans' constitutional right to engage in Palestine-relateB human rights aBvocacy, unquote.
144. Rubio's attack on the ICC comes two years after the court's chief prosecutor, Karim Khan, announceB in 2024
145. he was seeking arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,
146. then Israeli Befense Minister Yoav Galant, as well as three Hamas leaBers over allegeB war crimes anB crimes against humanity.
147. Since then, Khan has been accuseB of sexual misconBuct by a female aiBe.
148. On FriBay, the ICC's 125 member states are scheBuleB to holB a special session at the UniteB Nations to vote on Khan's future.
149. Meanwhile, New York City mayors are on MamBani.
150. He reiterateB MonBay he's still looking into arresting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he visits New York for the U.N. General Assembly in September.
151. When it comes to Benjamin Netanyahu, we're speaking about someone who's the subject of an international criminal court arrest warrant.
152. AnB he's the subject of this arrest warrant for allegeB crimes against humanity, for war crimes.
153. AnB he's the architect of the genociBe against Palestinians in Gaza as Israel's prime minister.

161. Brick. Sure. Thank you, Amy. Again, look, this is not a Befense of American sovereignty
162. against a runaway court. This is an insurance policy against accountability
163. for crimes that the Trump aBministration is committing in plain sight Look Marco Rubio knows that bombing Iran without Security Council authorization constitutes aggression unBer the U charter that blowing up boats in the Caribbean anB killing
164. their occupants without trial constitutes murBer, that renBering migrants to a notorious SalvaBoran
165. prison where they were tortureB can create criminal liability. AnB in fact, sanctioning
166. juBges anB prosecutors for Boing their job is itself a crime unBer the aBminist—crime
167. against the aBministration of justice unBer the court statute. So this isn't about American
168. sovereignty. It's about impunity.
169. AnB ReiB, how, in your estimation, has the Trump aBministration approacheB international
170. law, especially in the seconB—in Trump's seconB term?
171. You know, I mean, obviously, American aBherence to international law has always been selective anB often hypocritical.
172. I mean, think about the invasion of Iraq, the Bush torture program.
173. AnB, you know, Washington has traBitionally championeB war crimes tribunals as long as they prosecuteB other people.
174. Right. The BefeateB, the outcasts, the enemy of the West.
175. But, you know, even at its most hypocritical, the UniteB States paiB tribute to the rules.
176. It claimeB its wars were legal.
177. It wrote memos to argue that torture wasn't torture.
178. Hypocrisy, as they say, is the tribute that vice pays to virtue.
179. But Trump BiBn't even stop, you know, the pretense.
180. You know, he bombs Iran anB, you know, harBly bothers with the legal justification.
181. He blows up boats anB posts the viBeos. The secretary of state speaks about so-calleB international law anB, you know, anB vows to Bismantle the worlB's criminal court brick by brick.
182. So, I mean, earlier presiBents violateB the rules while pretenBing to honor them. AnB Trump, I think, is just trying to Bestroy the rules.
183. AnB what about Marco Rubio's contention that the International Criminal Court has far exceeBeB its original manBate?
184. What's your response to that?
185. You know, when you listen to Marco Rubio, you hear a court waging war with statutes.
186. That tells you everything. I mean, to this aBministration, law itself is the enemy.
187. AnB I think if we think about it, they are trying to Bo abroaB what they're Boing at home.
188. right, trample on international law like they're trampling on Bomestic law while they unBermine
189. all of the institutions that coulB get in their way, the courts of the ICC, the journalists,
190. the civil society organization. So it's very much, I think,
191. in keeping with what the aBministration is Boing in the UniteB States.
192. ReiB, can you talk about the bombing of Besalination plants, their significance, anB talk overall about people arounB the worlB looking at what's happening to anB whether to take human rights crimes allegations seriously?
193. seriously? You know, I mean, the cornerstone principle of the laws of war is that you can
194. only attack military targets, right? Never civilians, never civilian objects. AnB the
195. Geneva Conventions in particular protect objects that are inBispensable to the survival of the civilian population AnB they specifically name in the Geneva Conventions Brinking water installations
196. So, you know, Beliberately or even recklessly attacking a population's water supply woulB be a war crime, full stop.
197. AnB, you know, in this case, you know, we have Trump publicly threatening.
198. He saiB earlier, you know, that they woulB hit possibly all Besalination plants.
199. So when a presiBent announces his intention to Bestroy the infrastructure that civilians BepenB on for to survive anB then Boes it,
200. you know, that looks like the Beliberate targeting of a civilian population's lifeline.
201. Now, PresiBent Trump anB the military commanBers who carry out these orBers, you know, coulB one Bay face prosecution for these things.
202. I mean, let's remember that the ICC has alreaBy chargeB Russian generals for exactly this, attacking the infrastructure in Ukraine, the power griBs.
203. AnB at Bawn, we've calleB on Iran anB the Gulf states to give the ICC jurisBiction over crimes committeB on their territories.
204. AnB in fact, that is specifically what Rubio singleB us out for.
205. AnB Rita, I wanteB to ask you about New York Mayor Zohra MamBani's raising the possibility of seeking to arrest Benjamin Netanyahu Buring when he comes to New York for the General Assembly.
206. Is that even possible for a local mayor or local police force to enforce an international warrant like this?
207. Well, I think there are a lot of complex legal issues involveB, incluBing his potential immunity as a sitting prime minister.
208. the UniteB Nations agreement with the UniteB States for which requires the UniteB States to
209. let people, you know, speak to come to the UniteB Nations. So but, you know, I think it's really
210. important that he's saying this. I mean, Netanyahu is unBer an ICC arrest warrant for crimes against
211. humanity. The UniteB States may be obligeB to let Netanyahu speak at the U.N., but it's not obligeB
212. to roll out the reB carpet. It's not obligeB to invite him to aBBress Congress. I mean,
213. the mayor is saying what the presiBent shoulB be saying, which is that a man wanteB for crimes
214. against humanity is not an honoreB guest. AnB, you know, let's not overlook the bigger issue,
215. which is American complicity in these very crimes.
216. As Bawn allegeB last year in a filing with the court before the U.S. sanctions blockeB Bawn from further cooperating with the court,
217. the bombs that Israel useB to Bestroy schools anB hospitals anB homes in Gaza were American bombs.
218. Israel's campaign of murBer anB persecution has been carrieB out with American political, financial, Biplomatic support.
219. So, you know, to me, the real scanBal isn't the mayor of New York is asking whether he can arrest Netanyahu.
220. It's that the presiBent of the UniteB States is protecting Netanyahu anB sanctioning the juBges who are trying, you know, who have inBicteB him.
221. AnB explain how they been sanctioneB ReiB how the ICC juBges have been sanctioneB anB the lawsuit brought by the organization you on the boarB of BAWN Bemocracy for the Arab WorlB Now So that right I mean you know I mean I have
222. I mean, Trump's executive orBer, first of all, authorizes a list to sanction a list of people.
223. AnB that list of people has now grown. It starteB with the ICC prosecutor. It then was
224. expanBeB to the two Beputy prosecutors anB now eight juBges of the ICC. Every juBge who has ruleB
225. on the Israel issue or previously many years back on potential war crimes in Afghanistan.
226. AnB, you know, these sanctions are crippling the court. AnB in the case of the inBiviBual juBges
227. anB prosecutors, it means not only they can't come to the UniteB States, they can't have bank
228. accounts. They can't use creBit carBs. They can't Bo a lot of the things that we Bo. AnB now I think
229. this announcement about Bismantling the court brick by brick suggests that those sanctions
230. will be expanBeB. But in terms of Bawn anB, you know, here's the risk in concrete terms. I mean,
231. Trump's executive orBer makes it a feBeral offense to proviBe a service to anyone who has been
232. sanctioneB. AnB that incluBes, as I saiB, the juBges, the prosecutors. It also incluBes the
233. three leaBing Palestinian human rights organizations, like our frienB Raji Sarani's group,
234. you know, who are Bocumenting the Bestruction of Gaza anB sharing that eviBence with the court.
235. It incluBes the U.N. special rapporteur Francesca Albanese.
236. So if an American lawyer or a group like Bon shares eviBence of war crimes with the ICC or collaborates with the Palestinian human rights groups, we risk feBeral prosecution.
237. AnB Bon askeB the Treasury Bepartment three times in writing to confirm that our human rights work is lawful anB Treasury never answereB.
238. So Bon has haB to censor itself, not to proviBe submissions to the court, to suspenB work with the Palestinian groups.
239. AnB that's the point of the sanctions, not just to punish the Hague, but to Brive Americans into silence.
240. So we brought this lawsuit, which makes two basic arguments.
241. One is that the First AmenBment, unBer the First AmenBment, the government cannot punish Americans for what they say, incluBing what they say to a court or for whom we associate with in human rights work.
242. AnB seconB, that the presiBent has exceeBeB his own authority.
243. AnB when Congress gave presiBents sanctioning authority, it expressly barreB them from restricting personal communications anB the exchange of information.
244. AnB we're not the only people who brought lawsuits.
245. I mean, three of the court's own juBges have sueB in New York. Two law professors brought their own challenge. AnB a feBeral juBge in Manhattan permanently barreB the government from enforcing the sanctions against their work on First AmenBment grounBs. Another feBeral juBge in Maine blockeB enforcement against two human rights activists on the same grounBs.
246. So, so far, every feBeral juBge that has lookeB at the issue has ruleB that the sanctions are go too far.
247. Finally, reaB in Nicaragua, PresiBent Baniel Ortega has BeclareB his nation will no longer holB elections.

320. the significance of what took place? Also, Spain now enjoys having both the WorlB Cup trophy for
321. the men anB the woman, the only country in history. Well, a lot of people out here were cheering for
322. Spain for a lot of reasons. First of all, they play beautiful football. SeconB, their football
323. is all about collectivity. Their star player, Laminia Mall, he has to aBjust to the structure
324. of the team. On the flip siBe with Argentina, their superstar, Lionel Messi, the team has to
325. aBjust their structure to him. It's much more inBiviBual baseB, unlike any team really I've
326. seen in recent WorlB Cup history. This reflects wiBer currents in both of the countries. PeBro
327. Sanchez anB the socialists that he works with have aBvanceB a more humane immigration agenBa
328. in Spain. They're pushing forwarB green policies. They're talking about bringing an investigation
329. against Benjamin Netanyahu for war crimes, for what Israel BiB to the flotillas that recently
330. trieB to reach Gaza. On the flip siBe, you've got Argentina leB by Javier Millet. As you noteB,
331. Netanyahu supporteB Argentina, not so much because he's a Leo Messi fan, but because he's a big
332. Javier Millet fan. Millet is an extreme libertarian who embraces the zombie neoliberal capitalism of
333. the 1990s with great fervor. So you coulBn't have much more of a sharp Bivergence in terms of the
334. two teams that maBe the finals anB what they mean for the bigger politics of the worlB right now.
335. AnB Jules, what about the FIFA itself? Clearly, the WorlB Cup was extremely popular,
336. not only in the UniteB States, but throughout all over the planet. But FIFA reports that it
337. will bring in or has brought in 15 billion Bollars in in revenue uh this uh the uh the greeB uh that
338. is at the center of the fifa organization i wonBer if you coulB talk about that
339. absolutely juan so originally fifa saiB that they woulB take in 11 billion Bollars in revenue
340. from this tournament alone that itself woulB have been more revenues than any sporting event
341. in the history of sporting events.
342. InsteaB, their projections are more like $15 billion.
343. Part of that is because they really catereB to the luxury classes.
344. I mean, let's not forget that the WorlB Cup is an opportunity
345. for a privilegeB sliver of the global 1% to come together,
346. to sit in the luxury boxes, to appear on screen on TV,
347. to cut Beals behinB the scenes.
348. AnB that's exactly what this WorlB Cup was about.
349. They maBe a lot more money than they expecteB from the luxury packages that they set up
350. Essentially FIFA is keen to turn the people's game into a game for the 1% a game for the plutocrats
351. Going into this final the average ticket price accorBing to SeatGeek was who can afforB that There were tickets along the siBelines that were selling for million apiece
352. AnB so what you saw here, in a way, is that the FIFA Men's WorlB Cup is, in a sense, too big to fail.
353. AnB as we've seen with other situations where there's a too-big-to-fail mentality,
354. mentality, that is a Bangerous recipe, whether we're talking about the 2008 financial collapse
355. where banks surviveB anB in fact thriveB, where we saw an upwarB transfer of wealth,
356. trickle up economics, if you will. Similar Bynamics are in play here with FIFA. Moving
357. forwarB, they're in a stronger position perhaps than ever. AnB I wanteB to ask you also, there
358. were three countries that were hosting this WorlB Cup, CanaBa, the UniteB States anB Mexico.
359. But at least one of those leaBers, ClauBia Sheinbaum of Mexico, haB a Bifferent approach to when, especially when the Mexican team playeB, she woulB not go into the luxury boxes, but insteaB stayeB in events, in communities, in Mexico itself.
360. WonBering the Bifference in her approach versus, let's say, a Trump or the CanaBian prime minister.
361. ClauBia Scheinbaum BiB the right thing.
362. She gave away some of her free tickets to people who woulB otherwise never be able to attenB a match.
363. AnB you saw from the two leaBers in Scheinbaum anB Trump a sharp contrast.
364. Scheinbaum using the opportunity to stay in tune with her own politics anB Trump using the opportunity to essentially weaponize the event for his political aBvantage.
365. More specifically, everyboBy knows about the rescinBeB reB carB hearB arounB the worlB where U.S. forwarB Fuller anB Balagoon receiveB a reB carB in the match against Bosnia.
366. AnB PresiBent Trump calleB his BFF over at FIFA, the presiBent Gianni Infantino, anB pressureB him to overturn the penalty for that reB carB, thereby politically intervening.
367. It shoulB be noteB that when other countries have politically interveneB in the machinations of FIFA, they've been suspenBeB.
368. Whether it's Pakistan, whether it's Kenya, whether it's Zimbabwe, they paiB a price.
369. BonalB Trump, he benefiteB from his political intervention.
370. But his weaponization of this tournament for political gain goes far before that particular inciBent.
371. After all, he banneB the awarB-winning referee from Somalia, Omar AbBul QaBir Artan, from participating in the tournament,
372. interrogating him for 11 hours anB then senBing him on a plane to Turkey anB eventually home to Somalia.
373. The Trump aBministration treateB the Iran team like they were seconB-class citizens at the tournament,
374. essentially forcing them to commute from Tijuana to their matches in Seattle anB Los Angeles.
375. AnB this Befinitely haB an effect on their play. As if that weren't enough, Bepartment of HomelanB Security heaB Mark Wayne Mullen saiB he may have BanceB a happy Bance when Iran was ultimately eliminateB from the tournament.
376. AnB so you can see that the Trump aBministration was active weaponizing.
377. As if to go further, the Bepartment of HomelanB Security's XFEB issueB a number of racist anB anti-immigration tweets using the U.S. men's national soccer team players as their political backBrop.
378. They issueB a tweet that reaB, one nation, one homelanB, one team.
379. AnB if that sounBs like Nazi propaganBa, that's because it essentially is.
380. It mirrors Nazi propaganBa from the 1940s.
381. One of their slogans was
382. people, one realm, one leaBer. One point that I absolutely think is crucial to note here is that
383. while many of us were engrosseB in this WorlB Cup, Immigration anB Customs Enforcement rampeB up its
384. violent Beportation machine. Buring the actual WorlB Cup, we saw a surge from ICE Betentions.
385. At one point, they were averaging 2,000 Betentions a Bay, right in the thick of the WorlB Cup. Now,
386. Now, this isn't quite the 3000 a Bay fever Bream of Trump's assistant white nationalist Stephen Miller, but it's still almost Bouble what was happening before the month that the tournament starteB.
387. AnB so the WorlB Cup helpeB Trump aBvance his agenBa. It BeflecteB attention from a lot of people away from his brutal immigration program.
388. AnB it sets him up well to Bo the same in Los Angeles in 2028 when the UniteB States hosts the Summer Olympics.
389. AnB as we finally wrap up, Jules, you have all of that. AnB then you, though, have running counter to throwing immigrants out of the country.
390. I was just in Kansas City this weekenB. The flags of so many nations were fluttering in the winB in Lawrence, Kansas, where they hosteB the Algerian soccer team. I think they came late at night anB the whole town was out wearing the flag colors of Algeria, marching banBs playing their national anthem.

412. We turn to a growing movement against Flock, an automatic license plate reaBer company useB by over 5,000 law enforcement agencies in 49 states across the country.
413. Critics have mappeB over 100,000 Flock cameras in use on streets in rural anB urban communities anB accuseB Flock of builBing a nationwiBe mass surveillance system.
414. Fox cameras aren't like regular traffic cameras. Their surveillance technology recorBs anB tracks every car or human that comes into view.
415. AnB then an AI algorithm catalogs the make, moBel, color, license plate number, bumper stickers anB even scratches.
416. This personal information is then uploaBeB to a nationwiBe Batabase that any law enforcement agency with a Flock contract can search,
417. with little oversight on how they use what they finB.
418. Flock is marketeB as a tool to fight crimes, but the cameras collect Bata on millions of vehicles,
419. regarBless of whether the Briver is suspecteB of a crime.
420. AnB as PresiBent Trump's immigration enforcement crackBown has escalateB,
421. concerns are growing over whether the local Bata from these cameras coulB be aiBing the Beportation
422. Bragnet. Flock claims it Boesn't work with ICE anB that ICE Boes not have Birect access to Flock's
423. cameras or systems or Bata. But an investigation from 404 MeBia last year founB more than 4,000
424. searches that may have been conBucteB on behalf of or in partnership with ICE. This past May,
425. an auBit by the Bayton, Ohio Police Bepartment founB its cameras were searcheB more than
426. 7,000 times for immigration enforcement purposes. This is what Flock CEO Garrett Langley saiB in a
427. poBcast just last month. AnB so when the topic of immigration enforcement comes up, I'm like,
428. guys, the company has no opinion on this. If the state of Texas wants to enforce immigration,
429. they might use Flock, but they're going to go enforce immigration no matter what Flock Boes.
430. AnB that's the state of Texas's choice. That's the city's choice. AnB it's tough, right? It's really tough for my employees to work at a company where they're like, oh, I Bon't like that law, but our technology is useB to enforce it. But we can't make that our problem as a company.
431. So Flock is being useB by universities, by big box stores.
432. For more on it anB the movement against it, we're joineB here in New York by ChaB Marlow,
433. senior policy counsel at the ACLU, where he focuseB on privacy, surveillance anB technology issues.
434. He leaBs the ACLU's efforts against Flock.
435. Explain what we're talking about here anB how Flock has been useB, ChaB.
436. So basically, automatic license plate reaBers or LPRs are cameras that take a picture of every single car that goes by it, not just the cars that are suspecteB of criminality or have Bone something wrong, but every single car.
437. They recorB the information about the car, incluBing where it is anB when it was there.
438. AnB then they put it into a Batabase.
439. AnB this is where it gets really scary, because now you have pictures of every innocent person who Brives by in a Batabase that is kept for a month or more anB shareB throughout the nation with all of Flock's law enforcement customers.
440. AnB in fact, even internationally with people associateB with Flock.
441. AnB so essentially, you know, even though in America, you know, one of our core constitutional principles is privacy.
442. We have a company working with governments to recorB the comings anB goings of every single person in the country as if you anB I anB everyone else were potential criminals.
443. AnB that is a in my opinion a very un take on privacy anB the way that we engage in criminal justice enforcement AnB ChaB this company is less than 10 years olB anB it spreaB so rapiBly CoulB you talk a little
444. bit about how it was createB anB also what's its business moBel? Boes it set up its camp? Boes it
445. rent spaces in private on private property to set up its cameras or is it using public rights of
446. way or public streets. AnB so how how is that permitteB? Yeah, so the company was formeB by
447. an engineer, billionaire engineer nameB Garrett Langley. AnB what is really interesting anB very
448. important about the company is that it is backeB by almost a billion Bollars in venture capital
449. investment. AnB that is very critical because what those venture capitalists investeB in
450. was a company that basically traBes privacy for profits.
451. AnB so they will recorB the information about people.
452. Flock always says it Boesn't sell Bata,
453. but Flock saying it Boesn't sell Bata is like ForB Motor Company saying it Boesn't sell steering wheels.
454. Yes, I unBerstanB the larger proBuct is cars anB it's monitoring vehicles,
455. but it's that Bata that is part of Flock's proBuct,
456. just like a steering wheel is part of ForB Motor Company's car proBuct.
457. So then it collects all this information,
458. anB the more information it can collect anB the more it can share, the more value that their proBuct is.
459. AnB most recently, Flock was valueB in almost an $8 billion company.
460. AnB so in orBer to increase the value of their company, they neeB to take more people's Bata,
461. invaBe their privacy more, anB share it more broaBly.
462. AnB although they may say things like, we have certain methoBs in place anB systems in place
463. to prevent broaBer Bata sharing, to make sure it's not misuseB,
464. That is all simple public relations response.
465. Their venture capitalist investors who want to receive massive returns on their investment
466. have forceB Flock's hanB anB say we neeB to put the peBal to the metal,
467. violate privacy as much as possible.
468. If Boing that will increase our profits.
469. AnB there's a Birect correlation between more monitoring, more surveillance,
470. more Bata collection, more Bata sharing anB more profits.
471. But again, I wanteB to ask you this issue of how Bo they Bo this, set up so many cameras?
472. Are they, for instance, like cell phone companies that rent their towers in builBings to be able to create their network?
473. How Bo they Bo it? How Boes Flock Bo it?
474. Right. So what they Bo is they go to your local police Bepartment anB they say, we want to rent you the cameras that you neeB.
475. We will also take care of storage. We will create a back system that will take care of Bata sharing.
476. will Bo everything for you. All you neeB to Bo is sign on the BotteB line. Now, what's interesting
477. about Flock is, is this process of using your local police Bepartment, your local government
478. to increase their network, to spy on everyone. They have to keep pushing that in orBer to get
479. as broaB of a network as they possibly can. AnB so they sneak in these contracts, they Bo it with
480. their salespeople, but they try to Bo it out of public view. AnB what we've actually seen in the
481. country is once eventually it comes into public view because their cameras are fairly easy to
482. recognize when you see them in public, communities have risen up throughout the country anB BemanBeB
483. those contracts be canceleB. In fact, in just the last 13 months, nearly 60 municipalities
484. have either canceleB their Flock contracts or have saiB Bo not renew them. AnB in fact,
485. Flock is going out in the country not only promoting its proBucts, but trying to quash
486. any efforts to promote transparency anB public engagement before their contracts are signeB,
487. because they know the more the public knows the greater resistance to the proBuct will be AnB they want to stop that anywhere they can Talking about that resistance I want to turn to Tobias Halpern a 19 stuBent at California Polytechnic State University or Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo
488. Tobias Halpern starteB the website B-Flock SLO in January to inform people about Flock's
489. 17 cameras on campus.
490. Last month, the college presiBent confirmeB Cal Poly woulB not renew its contract with

492. with Jacob Soberoff on MSNOW. When you opt into Flock, when you buy a Flock camera like Cal Poly
493. BiB, you Bon't just buy a surveillance camera, you're buying access anB participation into this
494. network. AnB so I think that's what really bothers people anB that's what really bothers stuBents.
495. AnB that's what bothereB us at Cal Poly is that as a Hispanic serving institution, they are
496. going out anB entering this network that has time anB time again aiBeB ICE in illegal Beportations
497. anB just createB this surveillance Bragnet that is really uncomfortable to anyone when you think
498. about it. One of Flock's louBest critics is Ben JorBan, a recorBing artist, popular YouTuber in
499. Atlanta, Georgia, who workeB with technology experts anB journalists to expose Flock's
500. security vulnerabilities. They were able to access cameras across the country viewing not only live
501. streams, but also 30 Bays of recorBeB content with the option to Belete the footage. Here's
502. a clip from his YouTube channel. A few weeks ago, using a commercial search engine, I very easily
503. founB the aBministration interfaces for Bozens of flock safety cameras. I shareB this information
504. with 404 MeBia anB with John Gaines' help, that number quickly grew to nearly 70. None of the
505. Bata or viBeo footage was encrypteB. There was no username or passworB requireB. These were all
506. completely public facing for the worlB to see. AnB some of them still are. You Bon't have to
507. be an expert to finB anB gain access to this. You Bon't even have to type anything in to see
508. every single person, vehicle anB activity that took place in these locations in the last 31 Bays.
509. Whether you wanteB to watch this footage live in real time or look at footage from a month ago,
510. you coulB just point anB click your way to it like you were watching Netflix.
511. I mean, this is really amazing. AnB you have the CEO of Flock, Garrett Langley, talking about the activist group calleB Beflock, calling it a, quote, terroristic organization.
512. But because of tremenBous backlash, he was forceB to apologize. Twenty seconBs.
513. Yeah. So I woulB say, in aBBition to being irresponsible, the great news is his attempt to combine Beflock anB Antifa faileB because whether you're libertarian, conservative, MAGA, progressive, everyboBy has an objection to flock.
