71. And it wasn't for a guy, Mr. Smith, that grabbed me and said, you're going out for football, Jerry Smith.
72. He actually DM'd me and saw the video and thanked me and said he'd been following my career, which is crazy.

74. It's for Tony Zane and for Tyrone Pagone, who even when I was in the NFL and done, they'd always check on me.
75. We also had Ron Brown that ran in the Olympics, played the Raiders and Rams and won a gold medal in the 1984 Olympics.

77. Gary Allen went to Hawaii and played with the Houston Oilers at the time.
78. And so they developed all these guys at a very small school.
79. And they've changed a lot of lives, not even just on the field but off the field.
80. and the school board really needs to do the right thing.
81. So if you're out there in Baldwin Park, call, email the school board
82. and tell them to change the field's name to the Ty Pagoni and Tony Zane field.

172. You know, the black player that scored the goal for Mexico,
173. that's probably going to be one of the few times you see a black person on Mexican TV.

175. And the drink that Barron Trump, you know,
176. continuing the next generation of grifting four energy drinks for $39.99.

189. So basically, it's Sol for sun, and then Los, they're saying that's Sol backwards, which I'm trying to figure out what the hell that means.

193. So, you know, like that meme says, you know, how do we know that soy is actually just telling you milk saying hello?

198. And, of course, speaking of, you know, the old man, this weekend, of course, on Sunday is that real big UFC cage fight on the South Lawn that's caused a lot of consternation because they're still putting up all the scaffolding.
199. and they actually asked the uh trump one time why ufc why you know what what is so appealing about
200. that and he said that he liked the element of punishment so you're basically not just smacking
201. somebody like you would in boxing you're basically you know choking them until they're almost passing
202. out and ironically it's something he's escaped his entire life is punishment much and then and
203. And then to really rattle people, they have a weigh-in on Saturday at the top of the Lincoln Memorial,
204. right where Martin Luther King Jr. gave his I Have a Dream speech,
205. and where, you know, other very famous things have happened there.
206. And a lot of people are not too happy about that because they consider it very vulgar and disrespectful,
207. but it's not something that he really cares about.
208. But he had his water boy, like they're calling him in some circles, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, getting on from the White House today saying this is going to be a great event.
209. This is the United Nations of fighting is what he's calling it.
210. And how much is that United Nations of fighting costing the people, like $60, $70 million?
211. dollars yeah and here's the thing the tickets are free you know but and of course they're it's by a
212. lottery system but they have uh several like you said tens of millions of dollars to put all of
213. that together tens of millions of dollars including bringing all these fighters in here
214. and putting up all of that stuff there and they also have some commemorative coins that start at
215. $50 and go up to $11,000 that the Trump Organization has.
216. And of course you all know what that means,
217. that where that money's going to,
218. because you know that it's nonstop grifting
219. You know where the FIFA quarter, the offices for this World Cup are?
220. At the Trump Tower in New York.
221. And you'll guess who's getting the check for that.
222. Just a coincidence.
223. Yeah, it's just a tremendous coincidence.
224. And so that is one of the funny things about that.
225. if you don't like what's going on on Saturday and Sunday is that on Sunday they're expecting
226. a lot of rain it's especially around the time thunderstorms uh which may may or may not affect
227. the uh the actual fight because the White House says well we're going to have where the fighters
228. are it's kind of covered but anybody who's watching it is obviously not going to be covered
229. and some people say when the rain stops it's been so muggy here that there's gonna that they're
230. expecting an invasion of mosquitoes along with a lot of moths that are going to be attracted to
231. all of those lights that can we call it a plague of mosquitoes just a little more well that well
232. one of the scientists that was talking about it did did call it a a massive amount of mosquitoes
233. because unlike over there in LA, the humidity here is really unbelievable.
234. Today, there's even a heat advisory of the temperature going up to 103, 105.
235. When you factor in the humidity, it feels a lot warmer than that.
236. And tomorrow is supposed to be pretty nice, but Sunday, it's going to be in the 90s with rain and thunderstorms.
237. And so that that will definitely put a damper on that.
238. And now everybody's waiting for seven o'clock Eastern time in about 45 minutes or so to see what the final, final ruling on the whether to remove Trump's name from the Kennedy Center.
239. A judge, well, the Kennedy Center put in a request to stop the name from being removed.
240. And if you remember, everybody on the Board of Trustees on the Kennedy Center is a Trump affiliate.
241. And so they asked a judge to stop that name removal.
242. But the order came in a little too late and they had already taken the T off, right?
243. uh so well actually that the scaffolding went up they put a cherry picker up there and there
244. were a couple of guys waiting there and that judge denied that last minute request and then
245. the the board went back to another judge and said uh we want to stop this from going on and they
246. have until seven o'clock until 45 minutes from now to see whether it's going to happen or not
247. There's a crowd there already. They've been there since this afternoon with a live cam and they actually managed to get several live cams from across the street. They mounted them in some obviously friendly apartments at the Watergate hotel and condos right across the Watergate building is right across the street from the Kennedy Center.
248. that's hilarious and and they've got some people who have live cams from their balconies and
249. there also a live cam right in front of the kennedy center that the uh cable channel ms MSNOW has monitoring So everybody sort of waiting on that And it just been you know one insane thing after another with all of the ridiculousness that going on
250. because the president continues to flip out over the results in California,
251. saying it's taken so long, it's rigged, which I can't figure out, okay, well, if the,
252. why is it that the governor's race wasn't rigged, but the LA mayor's race was rigged,
253. even though it's the same ballot? So, you know, it's a bunch of baloney.
254. It just takes a long time, as you all know, out there in California to count the ballots,
255. because so many people waited until the very last day to mail it in
256. because that's what the law says.
257. You have up until Election Day.
258. Plus, it's all the marijuana smokers out here.
259. And, of course, you have people who have to make sure that the signature on the ballot
260. matches the signature that they have on file.
261. But the reason that this is interesting for anybody else who may be listening outside of California,
262. and even in California, the Supreme Court is supposed to be ruling on whether mail-in ballots
263. are, if you're able to use mail-in ballots as part of the electoral process. And if they turn
264. around and say there should be some restrictions on it, such as, yes, you can use mail-in ballots,
265. but they have to be in by a certain day rather than postmarked by election day, that is going
266. to throw off a lot of things all over the place, including in a place like Oregon, which
267. is all mail-in ballots.
268. And see my previous statement for that, because marijuana smokers don't get to the mailbox
269. until the last possible moment.
270. Well, and California's got about 40 million people here.
271. Yeah.
272. So it's going to take a minute to count a couple of ballots.
273. There are a lot of people here, Jeffrey.
274. You're right.
275. California's too crowded.
276. Right. And 85 percent of them vote by mail in.
277. So you can do the math there. That's at least 35 million people who mailed in the ballots.
278. And of course, you had the whole situation when Eric Swalwell, who was the front runner, was embroiled in that whole big mess, got dropped out.
279. And that turned all of the election around to bring in somebody like Javier Becerra, who was not a frontrunner at all, surge and become one of the two people that is running in November.
280. So this particular election in California, especially for the governor's race, is completely different than what everybody imagined months ago.
281. But again, if the Supreme Court rules that you have to have your ballots in by a certain day, what happens if some last minute thing, let's say somebody drops out and their name is still on the ballot?
282. You know, all kinds of things.
283. Or a scandal.
284. Some scandal happens all of a sudden.
285. Yeah, exactly.
286. And the whole reason that they did mail-in ballots way back when was during the Civil
287. War to make sure that people who were fighting were able to mail in their ballots.
288. And so the military even to this day counts a lot on the mail ballots for all of their service members overseas and American citizens living overseas obviously count on mail ballots to exercise their right to vote
289. And what this particular administration is trying to do is suppress the vote by starting to stick in,
290. making people not sure of the process.
291. Well, we don't know.
292. Exactly.
293. Then you have the House speakers saying,
294. well, it's so corrupt that we don't even have the evidence for it
295. because it's so embedded and so corrupt
296. that it's part of our lives right now,
297. which is a bunch of baloney.
298. And the only reason for saying that is because they have no evidence.
299. Right.
300. And the way this Supreme Court has been behaving,
301. It wouldn't surprise me if they gaslit us all and said, send in your ballots the Wednesday after the Tuesday election.
302. Well, you know, if the military couldn't send it in or they had to send it sometime, Bush would have never became president under the Bush-Moore election.
303. Yeah, that's right.
304. And the post office, for the longest time, has always prioritized ballots.
305. and in fact they are considered first class mail
306. and whenever a ballot comes into a processing center
307. they are processed before anything else
308. except now during this particular administration
309. where they decided to close some of the processing centers
310. where there are coincidentally a lot of mail-in ballots
311. and so that has slowed the process also
312. And, you know, obviously in a place like California, yes, L.A., Los Angeles has a ton of people, but there's a lot of rural areas, especially up north where you don't have the same access that you have in the big cities.
313. And that just is not in California, but in other places such as the primary in Maine, where the vast majority of those people that live in Maine live in two or three cities.
314. But there are many rural areas. In fact, the main is more rural than not, where a lot of those folks and the Canadian border and around Vermont, all of those areas there where it's very hard for them to get to their ballots because what they're doing and the post office says that this is a way to consolidate operations, which is complete baloney.
315. The postmaster general was appointed by Trump in the first administration, and he's still there.
316. And even though the post office is not under the control of the president, and it's actually part of the in the U.S. Constitution as an independent agency, the postmaster general is named by the president, usually a nonpartisan, nonpolitical post.
317. But in this particular case, they're trying to politicize the post office to make it harder for a lot of people to vote going into these midterms where the Democrats have a really good chance of taking over the House and even flipping some seats in the Senate.
318. Right, but the minute this guy, who is the postmaster general right now?
319. Because I seem to remember or recall that the minute he was put into his position and appointed,
320. he started getting rid of post offices and looking at all this mail-in stuff.
321. He was really working at the pleasure of the president rather than just being a public servant And that is the case with the entire cabinet You have a director of national intelligence who is a housing guy not even a
322. contractor, somebody who basically does cookie cutter types of townhouses all over the place,
323. Pulte, who now the president has nominated a former U.S. attorney to take over that job. But
324. this guy, Pulte, has been appointed temporarily to start on June 19th, Juneteenth, coincidentally,
325. while the other guy has to go through the nominating process in the Senate, and that's
326. going to take a while. And the thing about Pulte being in there is that the president said,
327. OK, yeah, he may not know a lot about national intelligence, but he's going to be in charge of making sure that to look at the 2020 election because that was rigged.
328. So now what they're doing is going around trying to get states to turn in ballots from 2020 to start this ridiculous, nonsensical thing that it was all that it was all a scam to because he supposedly won.
329. And and even if those ballots are proven and they have time and time again that he lost that 2020 election, this is part of that whole intimidation, because what the what the FBI did this particular week was raid the offices in Cleveland, Ohio, of an of an organization, a nonprofit organization that does register voters in underrepresented communities.
330. So in all the Latino and African-American communities without any kind of evidence.
331. And then they were going around, going to the homes of the canvassers, trying to talk to them, basically to intimidate them.
332. And like they did in the past, not the FBI necessarily, but what some allies, Trump allies did in the last election and the ones before that,
333. is to publish the addresses of some of these vote takers or some of these canvassers.
334. Yeah.
335. And people would show up at their homes.
336. And it's all part of that whole intimidation leading up to the midterm elections.
337. So you have to really be paying attention because this particular administration
338. likes to distract people while they're doing all these shenanigans.
339. And recently he walked off that interview, right?
340. And it was because he was being cornered about proving that the election in California had been fraudulent.
341. That's where it started, right?
342. And then he just won the 2020 election.
343. Yes.
344. Where is the proof?
345. I thought it started with California, then they brought up the 2019.
346. She said there's no proof.
347. He's trying.
348. That was an interview with Kristen Welter on NBC's Meet the Press.
349. and he was he started with California because that was the race that was going on at the time
350. and they're still obviously counting ballots because it takes a while and and then he made
351. it broader into oh well this just shows you that the election was rigged and all of the stuff and
352. here's a guy who himself votes by mail um and and all of a sudden you know it's it's a bad thing but
353. that's all because it's rigged, according to him.
354. And Christofelden kept saying,
355. but there's no evidence of this.
356. It's just, there's no, and he's like, you know what?
357. I'm done.

361. But how much of this is just projection?
362. Because isn't he so corrupt that he rigs everything he gets from even his contracting bids to whatever?

366. You know, and even some of the contractors who were tearing down part of the East Room in the White House were saying he haven't gotten paid.

453. We hung out pretty much all day long, and it was crazy.
454. You could see people from all over Latin America here on a bridge about less than a couple of blocks away from the stadium itself, the giant Azteca Stadium.

457. I'm not much of a soccer fan myself.

460. We like baseball.

462. But, you know, following the World Cup, it's pretty interesting.
463. there's some pretty interesting players to keep an eye on from the Mexican team. And I think,
464. you know, it looks on TV to me sometimes like a really slow sport. I like American football. I
465. like, you know, hockey, things like baseball, basketball. But when you look close inside
466. what's taking place on the turf itself, it's a pretty amazing thing. So I wanted to tell you
467. guys a little bit about, you know, what the scene was like with the Fan Fest and things like that.
468. on Thursday we were up at the up at the stadium again that's yesterday the day the World Cup
469. opened Mexico against South Africa the first time those two played off in an opening World Cup game
470. was 2010 and they came out tied one to one so so Mexico's victory yesterday 2-0 was a pretty big
471. start and there were some pretty amazing stars that I that I'm learning about and I wanted to
472. share with you guys some of these names so so you guys said black player there's a black player

478. amazing stories So but but um on on a Mexican team a black player is quite a quite quite a you know a new sort of thing in people minds their imaginations here But this guy an amazing star Here how he scored This is Julian Quinones who we talking about by the way
479. He was born, he's 29 years old. He was born in Colombia.
480. And, you know, a lot of African American, a lot of African Latin American players in those leagues down in South America, of course.

482. He became a Mexican citizen in 2023.

518. You guys, the second goal that Mexico scored in the World Cup opener on Thursday against South Africa, that was by number nine, Raul Jimenez.

520. This is amazing.
521. This is maybe one of the most remarkable comeback tales in modern football soccer at this time.
522. This dude was born in Mexico City.
523. He emerged and started to play with Club America here.
524. That's pretty big, professional.
525. And then he went on to Europe and just kind of really started to dominate.
526. But in November 2020, he suffered a tremendous life-threatening skull fracture during a game.
527. He had a head-on collision with somebody.
528. And he woke up, you know, much later.
529. And his life was changed.
530. He thought he was going to be out of football.
531. and but in this opening match in in the 2026 world cup the azteca stadium
532. jimenez scored his first ever world cup goal um and he did it using his head dudes
533. wow suffered this tremendous blow that threatened his life to his head he has to wear special
534. supports and he decided to hit this one in with his head and after that he was seen running away
535. from the goal fists in the air just pumping those legs filled with the sense of tremendous
536. accomplishment and his eyes were just welled up crying friends crying.
537. He was deeply moved one of those moments that you can see like yeah sports has a very interesting
538. human tail to it sometimes sometimes you can spot that if you look beyond the gambling and all the cool things like that the merch the merch and the gambling yeah well i i will say this you know
539. um any sport like when i was with the falcons um we just depend on each other because we know the
540. media will tear you down the fans will tear you down other teams will tear you down so you play
541. for each other and that's why i love seeing competitive sports like the world cup because
542. i know those guys have each other's backs and it's only them and they know they can only depend
543. on each other because if they lose everybody the media their country everybody will tear them down
544. so there's a lot of pressure on those guys oh yeah yeah you can imagine and and this is the
545. biggest sporting event i'm being told in human history man the number of people watching this on
546. television and and you know sometimes in stadiums like in la tonight uh so so this is really
547. something for mexican fans this guy that i just spoke about this is uh raul jimenez number nine
548. number nine raul jimenez uh he represents perseverance right he's proof for mexicans
549. that you can survive a catastrophe and get up and make a goal in the World Cup,
550. a historic moment.

593. invite all you guys, Jeff, come see us, man. And there's a little park a half a block away,
594. and on the basketball court, they set up a giant screen. And I had maybe 800 neighbors. I'd never
595. seen anything like that. Not on presidential elections when Claudia Scheinbaum was elected.
596. It wasn't that big, that many vecinos in the park. Or even when the 2017 earthquake devastated
597. the city. I did not see 800 vecinos all standing together. The majority were wearing a green Mexican
598. t-shirt. Our neighborhood
599. as Lalo remembers, there's more people with dogs than there are with kids.
600. It's one of those kind of places.
601. And a very green neighborhood.
602. And all the dogs had the jerseys on.
603. So when Mexico scored those two goals, it was just amazing.
604. You could just really feel the people joining forces.
605. And so something also happens with a national sport like the FIFA World Cup.
606. It's because your team now represents the whole country.
607. It becomes kind of like a unifying force.

858. that we actually, you know, Josefina takes actual things that have happened in our community,
859. the sterilization of women, back when they wanted to put a prison in East L.A.
860. And we've taken those things and brought them to the forefront to remind people that this is what happens in our community.
861. And then also, you know, in light of what our community is going through right now.
862. And so we were able to add some comedic moments to it and just have fun with it.
863. And there were times where, you know, I was almost afraid to let Yelena go home because it was, you know, she was, you know, crying and having a bit of a moment, having to revisit some of the moments and historical moments that we've experienced.
864. And so now it's our turn, right? It's our turn to, you know, stand up and be the resistance and art heals. And this is our way and our contribution, the three of us, Josefina, Yelena and myself, the contribution that we're making, not just to our community, but, you know, to our country as a whole.
865. And I really encourage artists to get to work.
866. And I know it's hard, but it's got to be done.
